This tour, designed for advanced cyclists is a classic in the Bregenzerwald. After a short but strenuous ascent on the Damüls road, you branch off onto a forest road that is easy to cycle on and winds through a shady woodland to the Alpengasthof Edelweiß. The route then continues across alpine meadows to the Wurzachalpe at the foot of the Kanisfluh. The imposing Kanisfluh is home to around 70 ibex, as well as almost 1,000 different species of butterfly.  Next, a descent takes you to Alpe Kanis and a singletrack trail (note: this is also the hiking trail!) to the Roßstelle mountain station. From the Roßstelle, an alpine path leads up to the Wildguntenalpe. Descend on the forest road to Mösle and then turn left. A gentle up and down past the Bleichtenalpe to the idyllically situated Hauseralpe. Descend to Mellenbach, followed by a short, crisp ascent to Lindachalpe in Mellental. Cycle down a pleasant gradient on the road into the valley. Finally, from Mellau, take the cycle path, which runs mostly wild and romantic along the Bregenzerach back to the starting point.
